Green names

I've noticed some people's names are in green - why is this? Do you have an area where newcomers can find out how 'things' work on AB. I, for one, would find it useful.
(I enjoy coming to AB since there are a great number of people who show kindness and share knowledge in a non patronising way.)

you're green for the first couple of weeks or so then you go grey. It is intended to identify trolls who sign up just to post rubbish.

Thanks jno - I never noticed either the tutorial or FAQs - Did I really begin as a 'green name' myself'? I can't remember. I had thought one had to answer several thousand questions and was awarded the colour!

Loftie - that sounds more like treatment at the hairdressers than AB awards!
I have yet to notice any of those colours. Surely Edith and BigDave44 would be well on their way to a rainbow effect of some kind?
