i'm beginning to discover that it doesn't pay to have a conscience at work. whether you meet customers expectations, company procedures, deadlines etc.
because if no one else around you gives a toss, why should you?

Personal efforts can go unrecognised in large work places but I think it's important to concentrate on what your doing and not what everyone else is doing.
Self respect! No one can take that away from you. It may seem that no one notices your endeavors, but people do. I wouldn't want to have a couldn't give a damn attitude & you are probably the same! xxx
You've only just realised????

My boss even pinches my ideas and claims them as his own!!!

So, disillusioned as I am, I really don't give a toss!!
To repeat the old joke -
Being conscientious around here is like p!ssing yourself in a dark suit - you get a warm feeling but nobody else notices.
You just have to battle on - maybe nobody does notice, or care. No matter, a good deed is its own reward. But you would be surprised at the number of times someone does notice. They may never tell you but It may give them the push or the courage to do the same themselves one day.
