Look on the hospital website- they should have a link to "What to do if you have a complaint".
contact your local PALS
some info here

Write to the hospital director.
At the hospital I work for a lot of complaints are addressed to the Chief Executive but are forwarded straight to 'the Complaints Department'. PALS - Patient Liaison Service will also be able to help. Look up the web site for your local hospital.
CAJ1, you might as well write to E.T.
i can tell you now, the hospital WILL reply, then fob you off in every way that is legal.

ive been there. attempted to make a complaint against a Doctor i felt was neglegent to my son. after a couple of weeks i received a "its being investigated" letter.
weeks later a follow up letter informed me the Dr involved had left the country. not 100% sure of the details now but it was something to do with him not being employed by the local authority....
amazingly i saw him a month or two later in town !

i wish you luck, but i doubt you will get the responce you are looking for.
I had similar response as Funky. Eventually feel you are getting nowhere, but then you are worn down, so dont take it any further. You know and they know, they are just bluffing it out.

I had a suspiscion it wouldn't be taken up seriously and they would have an excuse for everything but thought I would give it a go. The whole system I have been through is a joke and think if I just send something to a department in the hospital for complaints nothing will change. I'll maybe try that PALS.
Yes - go through PALS.
And if you really believe you have a genuine cause for complaint or concern - Don't Give Up!!!
Persistence is the key - they will try & fob you off if they can.

Its not that I want to be a nuisance either, its just that I want them to improve so other people don't have to go through the same thing as me!
Well, if you really thinkthat you have a case then enlist the help of a solicitor and that will surely bring a response.
I also wrote and complained to my hospital- never even got a reply.
