Can it grow back??

I read that Gail Porters is coming through, so is alapecia (sp) of varying degrees?

Alapecia does tend to have varying degrees-I think Duncan's was the result of a trauma when he was young. Did he fall out of a tree or something?

yep, its a shock to the system, my lad got alopecia through trauma at puberty, he got a knock on the head when he was eight when he was going through puberty it started

My son got alapecia through stress a few years ago, his hair has come back but he has bald patches on his head and in his beard. It's a lot easier (although not nice) for a man to cope with it because, as my son does, they can keep it shaved off and still look ok

Duncan Goodhew (and Matt Lucas of Little Britain & former referee Pierluigi Collina) has Alopecia universalis.

Little is known about the causes of AU, but is genetic or auto immune and generally not caused by 'shock'. Basically their hair does not have the physical and biological attributes that are required for hair growth. They usually do not have any body hair at all.

AU is the most severe form of Alopecia areata (which is what Gail Porter has).

AU affects around 0.001% of humans.
AA affects around 1%�2% of humans.

I had alopecia areata for 6 years and during that time it gre back and fell out several times! All my eyelashes and eyebrows too!
Thank god, it ALL grew back and thicker than ever! Hopefully hers will just grow back and not fall out again - cuz i tell you you lose so much hope when you wake up and th eone eyelash that had grown back is gone :(
