side effects of microgynon 30

i stard taking microgynon last tuesday, my periods normally last 5 days maximum..however this one has lasted 8 days and doesnt seem to be stopping...i was just wondering if this is a normal side effect and when it may stop?

if it is your first time to take it, then it is normal. it is just your body to get used to it. first time i took it mine been lasting for 2 weeks, but not real period, in the second week was just spotting. i went to my gp, been told it is normal, but she gave me different pills insterad. i m using ovymens now, it was similar to microogynon when i just took it, but the period lasted slightly shorter than it. it was back to normal in the following month.

I think everyone has different side effects from different makes - some suit some people but not others - hence there being so many on the market.

I'm on M30 and have never had any side effects - maybe try going to your dr and discussing trying a different one

I used to be on this and had to be quite strict about taking it at the same time every day or I got breakthrough bleeding.
