Hi everyone - I need some up to date advice on hair straighteners. I've not used them before but I tried a friends the other day and thought I'd buy a pair. My hair is fine and has hightlights and lowlights through it, it's reasonably straight but has a few waves after washing. There seem to be so many on the market. But which ones will keep my hair in the best condition and also what's the best protection spray to buy. Thanks very much in advance everyone.

I've tried many straighteners, including ceramics, but the best by far are GHD ceramic straighteners, closely followed by Coriolis straighteners.

All heat products will damage the hair, with excessive use, but using products designed for use with heated stylers, will lessen damage.

It's hard to say what are the best products, as there are so many. GHD do their own range, so do Treseme and most other haircare manufacturers. I suppose it's a case of trying a variety, to see what works best on your particular hair.
GHD's are the best by far, to be truthful i wouldn't use any others, i've tried them and they just don't do the job as easily or as well.
I've tried all the sprays out there - from Paul Mitchell to GHD own brand - and my favourite is one of the cheaper ones - Trevor Sorbie Straightening Addict Protect, Flatten and Shine Spray (from Boots). Gives hair great gloss and gets rid of flyaway bits.

I've used GHDs in the past but recently got some Paul Mitchell professional straighteners, which I love. There is a digital display on the side to show what temperature they are at and they go up to a whopping 230C - great for my thick curly hair but one of the lower temps should be fine for yours.
wet 2 straights everytime,,easy,,my hair is dyed always has been and they are bloomin fantastic and my hair is shiny and looking better than ever,,wont bother with anything else anymore x
