I've got to buy a present for my best friend's mum's boyfriend :-S can't get out of it as I'm going to see him on xmas day. I'm thinking of spending about a fiver, maybe a little bit more, but don't want to be boring and get a bottle of plonk etc. He's 50ish, likes gardening, puzzles and getting his own way. Any suggestions???

get him a small garnders handbook , or some hankys

get him a bottle of booze with glass, they do them for a fiver at asda/tesco

see if you can get a gardening magazine from asda/tesco they do lots of freebies in them and all around a fiver.
