Anyone who has time on there hands take a look through this: http://www.nlpnow.net/phobia-ac.html

Which phobias would you say you suffered from (even if a mild form)? I've only got from A-I but I'd say I have athazagoraphobia and decidophobia thus far. I think. I can't decide. Please answer my question, please don't forget to...! ;-)

sorry tiny, i cant be doing with reading all that.

but im afraid of needles if youre really interested :)
I don't know if it has an official name but I have a phobia of not being able to breathe - I get panicky if someone hugs me for just a moment too long and I start to feel like I can't breathe and if I start thinking about my breathing and become aware of it, I start to panic then, thinking "what if I forget to breathe?" - I'm a bit weird I guess. I'm claustrophobic as well, so that ties in with the breathing thing.
Cleithrophobia or Cleisiophobia- Fear of being locked in an enclosed place.
Coulrophobia- Fear of clowns.
Enochlophobia- Fear of crowds.
Entomophobia- Fear of insects.
Odontophobia- Fear of teeth or dental surgery.
Odynophobia or Odynephobia- Fear of pain. (Algophobia)
Parturiphobia- Fear of childbirth.
(Strangely given my name) Pediophobia- Fear of dolls.
Soteriophobia - Fear of dependence on others.

Other than that I'm very well balanced. (Nice to have a name for them all though).
Mine is not there. I have great fear of mice and rats!!
Only the other evening on the tube platform there was a mouse running around and me screaming!!
How embarrassing.
I have Mycophobia - Fear of Mushrooms
Fear of clowns
Fear of anything medical
Fear of Knives

I can't go all through those phobias!
I'm a wee bit scared of bananas too but only in their straight out of the wrapper form, put them in a cake, a blender or dry/sundry them and they're delicious.
Greek and Latin-itis. What's wrong with English ?
Why tell a kid that 'Fear of Hights' is 'Acrophobia'. and then ask 'What does Acrophobia mean ?'. Barmy. Fear of Hights says it and says it ONCE. By the way 'PH' doesn't sound like 'F' any better than 'F' does.
I'm terrified of heights and bananas. Yes, really.

I thought this one was quite bizarre! Bogyphobia- Fear of bogies or the bogeyman ;o)

I personally quite enjoy the idea of Chorophobia- Fear of dancing.

Sounds to me like an excuse for anyone who refuses to dance having one day caught site of themselves in a mirror, sweaty and swaying, and realised they weren't such a sexy, drunkern dancer as they origninally believed themselves to be. IO for one never learn though.

I also enjoy Octophobia - Fear of the figure 8
wow there are some strange phobias in that list .

Fear of going to bed, fear of getting peanut butter stuck on the roof of your mouth, fear of time, but the one that made me laugh was fear of the english :)) no doubt they have a fear of the scottish too :))

I have a terrible fear of spiders
a fear of choking
not to keen on insects either
and a fear of wild animals.
Hi tiny xx

Anuptaphobia ( being single )

xx
Oh , and ....I couldn't see one for balloons , but I do have a balloon phobia so they need to have a name for it ...lol
i have a fear of buttons. they make my skin crawl. <<shudders>
Ooh, I have a fear of drunk people - even happy drunks, I feel really unsafe. Also a fear of being chased. If I think I'm being chased I panic somethin rotten!

I had to laugh at the 'Fear of Gravity' one...if you have that you're pretty screwed surely???
Hello everyone! tiny, what a great thread! Gonna read through the link in a mo.

China Doll, you and I are oddly similar, phobia-wise.
I cant read through all of that to find mine, but I have a fear of pulses (as in the pulse from arteries, not the fruit! ).
I think its in connection with my fear of wrists.
In biology class we were to take our pulses from our wrists, I couldnt bare to do it, but the teacher did and my pulse was 164 because she was touching my wrist!!
I hate being able to feel my pulse, or anyone elses.
Eugh !!
I think I may be a little wierd ...
I don't have a fear of insects - apart from crane flies. I've no idea why this is, as I know they can't hurt you.
I have a phobia of worms, maggots, grubs, catapillars etc etc. Its a completely irrational fear as I don't mind spiders and snakes. I can hold a spider but I can't even look at a worm. Makes me feel sick.

I also have fear of drowning. I can't swim in water where I know my feet won't be able to touch the ground.
