I havent had a period for about 3 months and feel a wee bit sick in the mornings but I'm (almost) positive I'm not pregnant. I have the implant in, have actually lost weight and dont feel pregnant, I have a son so know how it feels. Any ideas what could cause this? (obviously I am gonna go to doctors next week but just wondered)

have you taken a test? or are you just going on the assumption that you cant be as you dont 'feel' pregnant?
Im not sure what the chances are when on the implant but isnt it worth ruling that out before you go to GP?

Yeah good point red, I was told that there had been NO reports of pregnancies with the implant lol but knowing my flipping luck...
Have you lost a lot of weight recently? or hyad a stressfull event or series of events recently such as a death in the family, relationship break up or moved house? these are factors which could cause you to stop havwing your period iof you have been "regular" in the past
Question Author
No actually John, was saying that to mr Cat this morning, I am the least stressed I have been for ages lol
On holiday from college, everything is great at home etc
Very odd. Ah well will see what doctor says, thanks though x
It MAY just be an oestragen (sp)? hormonal reaction to the implant then but please please get your GP to check it for you

Could be, but this is my third implant, have had it for 6 years. Thanks for your concern though John, I will go to docs x
did you buy a pregnancy test??
Question Author
erm no lol (that would be too sensible) seemed a waste of money when I am 99% sure I'm not

Thanks Cazzzz it does say "long term users of Depo-Provera or Norplant" which are similar to what I have, thats probably it. thanks again
my friend has the implant and her periods stopped. I don't know much about them but the one she has - she was told they'd stop when she got it done.
ps - she lost weight too!
hmm, sounds like an excellent plan, weight loss and a period break!

where do I sign?
Maybe you somehow got caught on your change over a few months ago Cat!! Thats not unheard of, preganacy on the implant can happen if fitted incorrectly or a faulty implant.
Question Author
Gawd yeah Goods, erm sooner I get to docs the better I think
I thought the implant stopped periods anyway?I concidered it but was told i would put weight ON.
Question Author
As I said I've been on implant for just over 6 years and this is the first time my periods have stopped
