I have a gold crown which cannot be used because the tooth has broken. Is there any value to the crown? Thanks

Hello catseye, no value on a single tooth, well that's what the dentist will tell you anyway but all three dentist's I worked for kept a jar of old gold crowns and bridges and there was a specialised chap you used to come and weigh them and give you cash for them. An average size jam jar would give them about 300 quid.
They have to be specialised scrap metal dealers because I am guessing the bits of teeth and blood are not what everyone want's in their scrap metal!!
