Live in the uk where its always raining might help
There are many non-prescription creams, sprays and other chemical based products you can use on your own skin, or around your camp or garden, to avoid mosquito bites. Two such products are Citronella or Deet. As with any product, their effectiveness depends on the situation, your own skin chemistry, and the exact type of mosquito you are dealing with. DeetAvoid areas prone to mosquito infestations. Mosquito's are often attracted to water, especially standing water.
Invest in an electric hanging mosquito "zapper". Many varieties are available in your local well stocked hardware store (WSHS), or look on line. They may even have a USB one by now.
Some people claim that orange peel will drive mosquitoes away. It works for cats, so it may be worth a try if you have no other solution.
Sleep with a mosquito net over your bed, but check for holes regularly.
Hi, I'm allergic to mosquito bites as I found out in January in Cuba! I then started using the Jungle Formula we' d brought! It's brilliant stuff. Also use a hydrocortisone cream if you do get bitten.
Buy the Avon Skin so Soft (soft and fresh fragrance) range. Three years ago I had over thirty mozzie bites (at once!) and was being driven potty by them! Someone told me about this and I now use the shower gel and body lotion (I put it on every morning and every night). For the last two summers it has been bliss! I can't say I've not had a bite, but only 1 or 2. As soon as it was May 1st I put the the shower gel I was using away till next autumn and out comes my Avon!
BTW take no notice of Bri Friedman - when I had my thirty odd bites I hadn't left the country!
Also - I don't think that Avon are allowed to call this stuff anti-insect or whatever as it wasn't designed with that in mind, but it seems to be quite common knowledge. Two different people told me about it then when I mentioned it to my Avon rep she knew straight away what it was I wanted! If you don't have a rep you can order on line.
i found that lavendar oils seemed to keep the mozies at bay - not sure why but smelling like an old person was a small price to pay for being bite free!
