I have just been rung to be told I have won a free makeover for me and a friend at studio 64 in faringdon but was then asked for a deposit that would be refunded if I turned up, it all sounds a little too good to be true. Has anyone heard of them or been to their studios? Is it really free or is it a big con?? Please help! Thanks

As the saying goes..........there's no such thing as a free lunch.
If it sounds too good to be true, it definitely is. Have you ever had the phone call congratulating you on winning the opportunity to buy a time-share half-price? Same kind of thing - it's not a prize at all! My husband's gran has spent thousands (NOT an exaggeration!) in so-called admin fees or deposits, to enable whichever company it is to send her new ferrari/cheque for 2 million etc. She's been plagued for 2 or 3 years, because these dodgy places exchange details of all the gullible old dears they've caught. This will be the same. Send them anything now, and you'll get dozens more offers every week for all eternity!!

Hub just read over my shoulder and said "don't do it!" So I'll leave that with you....!
Not a rip off as such.

Your deposit will be refunded, or you can use it towards purchasing photos.

As experience shows in the above link, the 'hard sell' comes after all the photos have been taken. You will be offered your free photo, but tempted to SPEND.
