You could have mastitis ,it isn't something that only breastfeeding mothers get. You should go and get it checked out as soon as possible because you may need antiboitics

i have not had any children. im 29 and its a week after my periods
You should get it checked out... but just to set your mind at ease. My friend had a spate of finding lumps , she was suffering from over active hormones - but they told her at Doc's to always come in - just to be sure.
always, ALWAYS go and get breast lumps checked out. even if you're prone to cysts, treat each lump individually and never assume it's just another cyst.
Megsy33 i've just got over breast cancer myself, initially it felt like i just had a tightening of a muscle, everyone said it was nothing but i still went to the doctor. It was minute i am one of the lucky ones because i got it early.Never leave anything thats what the doctors are paid for.If your not happy then see another one.To be honest yours doesn't sound cancerous but still have it checked out please.I haven't had any children either.
I am sure I have answered this question.... I wonder how and why my reply was deleted? I didn't say anything indecent or agressive, just that you should go urgently to see your doctors and that if they made you feel like you were wasting their times, that you should change doctors...
Anyway, megsy, I just came here to know if you went to the doctor and what did they say, what's the news, etc, and wish you a good holiday!!
i havnt been back to the doctors because the lump went down and the redness faded. although ive still a very slight lump but have had a letter from the hospital to see a specialised breast nurse. i think its something to do with family history clinic.
im on my mums computer also and she is logged on as her
Glad that you are better Megsy, and yes, if they sent a letter, it's because they are at least interested in knowing more, so, you will be ok I'm sure!
