Anybody had any success in giving up smoking with acupuncture.
I recently had acupuncture for it, however I cant help thinking that its all a bit of a con.It was advertised that one session was all it took, but afterwards the acupunturest said that more than one session would be needed (at 20 pound a throw) and then said that I would also need herbal lozenges (at 7 a time). The cravings to smoke are as bad as they were before. I had more success on the patches, unfortuanatly started smoking again at xmas duh...
Having acupuncture has had no effect whatsoever.Yes, I know that willpower is needed as well but I cant help thinking that these "alternative" remidies are deseigned to keep you going back for more, therefore replacing one addiction for another. Any views are welcome . Thanks

you should have paid to have the little needles put just inside your earlobes, they worked for my friend and cos 40.
what form did you have?
well done , you get a gold star for realising it's all mumbo jumbo.Sorry mate the only way is cold turkey, don't give up giving up!
No not all loosehead, though i do think the link to pain and suffering and giving up smoking is a useful tool for reminding you you are meant to be quitting.
wizard, i am an ex smoker due to pure will power, i dont have any views on accupuncture really but i am curious to know, does it hurt? I hate needles and think it looks an awful thing to go through, just wondered.
all the best in your quest for giving up btw. You obviously want to do this so thats the main thing in being sucsessful

Replies so quick. Thanx guys.
Loosehead, im inclined to agree with you.
dot. I had needles in arms, head, feet and ears.Like a f****g pin cushion.
julie, nah, it doesnt hurt, the needles are very fine.
I would also recommend using will power to stop smoking. There's no easy 'cure' ... Having said that acupuncture is very effective for lots of people, although I haven't tried it myself.
