Hi bounce, I did, I was going out with my girlfriend for 5 years, we had just got engaged but kept arguing, we split up, (her choice) after a year apart she suggested we meet for a drink, I told her to p--s off, but she kept phoning, after a while I said ok,just to shut her up, anyway within 3 months of meeting again, we were married and have been for 35 years, and it has been great, so it really can work.

Thats a nice story :)
Hi bounce, you nosy thing! ;o)

I ended my relationship at the end of September with my boyfriend of six years. We hadn't been getting on for over a year and we were just horrible together.

I went on a few dates with a guy in November time, but it didn't work out (he was very immature!).

In December I went with my ex to New York, on a holiday we hadn't been able to cancel (not that I would have anyway) and since then we've seen quite a bit of each other and get on better now than we ever did before. We'll see how it goes though; I'm wary.

Like ray though, it can work. Hi, Ray! <waves>
I went with a boyfirend for 7 years then we split up for various reasons including he was an a$$hole among others. I dated other people for 5 years during which time he constantaly tried to get back with me and I constantly told him to bu$$er off. Finally I gave in, he is now a totally different person, has realised what his priorities are in life, waht an eejit he was and how he did not appreciate me at the time. We are now engaged and due to set up house in less 8 weeks and things couldn't be better, so yes it can work, but to answer you question 'is it a better relationship', not only is it better, it is different and more matured, with more understanding and more respect.
I split from my gf of 9yrs last April after 'mucho problemo'... didn't speak or even keep in touch for 7 months... I went abroad for 2 months for a complete change of scene... had a 'liason' with a lovely gal... that actually proved to me I still had strong feelings for my ex... we've met up since my return and have agreed to 'see what happens from now on... no strings attached'... not sure what will happen but 'never say never'...
What lovely stories, but It's not always roses. I went back to an ex of 2 years, after seeing someone else for 6 months, it was fine for a while but then it totally fell apart. All the old problems reared thier heads again, I don't think either of us actually wanted to change, we missed each other incredibly, but it was more the friendship than the relationship, we were both under 30, maybe we hadn't found out exactly what we wanted out of life and relationships.
Thankfully were both really happy now with other people, still friends, but we are ex's for a reason.
Oops, have just reread my post and failed to mention that there were also faults on my side, still are, but given our maturity we are better able to address them.
