Ive heard it too, but i reckon that the truth is that your ears dont carry on growing but your head starts to shrink :)
never heard that before, so by the time we are sixty will our ears be like an elephants ears.
pretty much...
Hi, apparently if you were to mark the inside of your ear with indelible ink over the space of a few months the dot would move out of the ear......due to the skin of the ear always regenerating and growing....don't ask me how I know this.....lol

Also, why do people suddenly start sprouting tuffs of hair from their ears as they become old?
again, if your head is shrinking the hair has less scalp to grow on :)
I think it's something to do with ears being made of cartilidge rather than bone which I believe does keep growing.
its true that your ears can still grow after you have 'matured' ohysically as there is cartillage around them.your nose too(as i can bloody testify!).some people get a condition where their ears, nose and short bones(on hands and feet) keep growing in adulthood.techically its only your long bones(arms and legs etc) that have no possibility of growing any more once you reach maturity.
