this is not a wind up i am seriouse.
dyslexia is when a person gets their letters muddle up so makes it hard to read?
if this is the case and we new what letters were getting muddled up, could we write the word with the letters in a muddled up order so it would read properly to them?

A serious answer, I don't think it would make any difference at all, sorry about my first flippant reply,it is a serious problem for a lot of people, the annoying thing is some people regard them as not being very bright, whereas the opposite is often true, normally above average intelligence.

An inability to spell is not dyslexia.

My daughter has dyslexia. She is in the second year of her nursing degree. If she read this question and most of the answers she would laugh. Unless you know what dyslexia is don't ask stupid questions about it.
why not gef? if you dont know about a subject, the natural thing to do is to ask questions about it. To me happys question made sense ... if the letters in the word rearrange themselves so you cant read it in dyslexia (notice i say if because i dont know about it either) then it would make sense to jumble them up to begin with so that they rearrange themselves into the word when read by a dyslexic person. If you want people to understand what its like for people like your daughter then tell us! dont just say "you cant ask questions if you dont know about the subject" .. it hardly advances peoples understanding does it?
besides if people were limited to know ing what they were talking about before they posted on here, there would honestly be only posts from quizmonkey and buchennio!
Thing is that dyslexia is much more than just getting letters muddled up. I can only go on the experiences of those who have told me what it's like, but it's more about recognising patterns - a bit like those "oh, I know this but I just can't find the right word" moments we all have.

It's more than reading and writing too. I used to support a blind lad who was also dyslexic. Yes, he showed the classic signs of dyslexia - very badly written prose, lousy spelling and syntax, and sentences that would morph into something completely different from what they were when they started. But his dyslexia also showed in other ways - like a complete inability to time-manage or stay on track with a task.

Someone else I know who's dyslexic has a Doctorate in Literature and lectures at a university. He's a brilliant musician too, but has a self-confessed difficulty in reading music. He's a nightmare to rehearse with. He'll suggest you rehearse a piece, and you say, 'OK, we'll do that next, when we've finished this." Two minutes later he'll forget about what you were rehearsing and launch off into his own stuff.

This is kind of typical of how he is in other areas. Now, if someone could tell me how to get angry with him over this, it would help, because he's so loveable with it that you just can't be. If he was a kid, he'd be so spoilt. :-)
