Hi Welshwill,

As much as I love to see fireworks, it does go on too long afterwards and/or before the actual 'bonfire night' - and for those of us who own animals its a nightmare !
It's a pain. It's really hard to type when your've got a dog sitting on the keyboard
LOL Ummmmm, my dog is a gundog, but he still tears up and down stairs barking each time he hears a bang! My cats just howl :(
We started to get fireworks going off around here at the end of September and this will continue until the end of the year.
Where the hell do people get all the money from to buy these expensive, annoying, polluting menaces?
I saw a shop in Canterbury advertising some that looked like the taliban had cleared their excess stock out. They were absolutely 'king huge - some of the rockets looked like ICBMs and they were 20 each. I also noticed in the local Sainsbury's that they were doing a buy one get one free on fireworks ~ very bl00dy sensible - NOT!!
I've a springer spaniel......but he's stupid
Sounds like a war's going on here too, I loathe fireworks, yes some of them can be very pretty but nowadays it's mainly the 'bang' that people go for!

My dog doesn't seem to be fazed by fireworks, he just looks at me as if I've made the noise, I'm off out soon so hopefully he won't be a scaredy!!
Awww, Ummm - a springer - wonderful - is he stressed by fireworks ? My lab isnt 'stressed' i dont think he just thinks he is supposed to be retrieving the odd duck or pheasant lol ! He will get tired in a bit due to all the running about, and hes an old boy at 14... !
We hate the things welshwil. Every year it's the same and the banger's now sound more like bombs exploding! Bonfire/Guy Fawkes night used to be a one night ritual but like everything else it's gone way beyond the boundarie's. Our little old dog is terrified every day and night so much so that Im giving him a Bach Rescue Remedy for anxiety and shock. It's perfectly safe for animal's. but we should'nt have to go to these extreme's. Its about time the power's that be did something about this issue! Rant over.

my dog wasnt afraid of fireworks but ran a mile when the hoover was on, whats that about?
It's not Bonfire Night anymore ..its Firework free for all.
Shaney is going mental here ....barking the place down in spite of music and TV on full blast. A dogs hearing is much more acute than ours.I don't mind it but it goes on and on ad infinitum. We even have people in our neighbourhood who let them off in the summer for things like birthdays and our neighbours a few doors down let them off because their daughter had passed her driving test...in the middle of the bl&&dy summer ....I ask you ..!!
Why the hell it can't be confined to just one night is beyond me. Night after night from now until the New Year .Grrrr!
i wish they'd ban the whole idea of bonfire night and fireworks! it's a nightmare where we live , they start early in the morning right through the night, weeks before & weeks after, daisy48 has the right idea, it's about time the powers that be did something about the issue, if i had my way i'd ban all sales of the bl00dy things!
ps: never liked them when i was younger so i'm not a spoilsport , i just feel sorry for the animals & wildlife,.
allottment, shaney, I could'nt agree with you more! Even the parents are as bad these days as they seem to think fireworks are a must whatever the occasion or time of the year. We all love a good party but fireworks? NO! We live close to Cardiff Bay where firework displays are non stop due to the many events held at the various theatre's and opera houses. Then comes october and it's more fireworks around the streets until wayyy past Xmas and of course they must celebrate New Year with....more bl**dy fireworks.

daisey girl, move to london!!
LOL welshwil. God I could never handle London,Cardiff is too noisy and busy for me now! I've lived here all my life but we're hoping to move to Sully when my hubby retire's. My inlaws live there and it's sooo quiet. Are you from Wales wil? Daisy.
Move to London !!
I moved away from London three years ago and it's just as bl**dy bad here in the sticks where I live now.
It doesn't matter where you live ..they let the ruddy things off night after night .Where people find the money to let these noisy polluting things off night after night is beyond me.They are not exactly cheap to buy.I am not a killjoy but one night a year is enough for anyone surely.
sneaks in timidly and says "I like them" then runs out :)
Surely better than actually being in Iraq though?
You are right Naz ...anything must be better than what those poor people must be going through.Miserable moaners that we are.It does put things into perspective and we should be thankful that we live in a free and democratic society ...but I still wish it was just the one night and be done with !
I think they've stopped!
Awwwww, Nox - definite awww moment, bless - great! Cant beat a man being all impish !
