cleaning hair straighteners?

Is there any safe way to clean hair straighteners? Every time i turn them on, they start to smell slighty of grease and it makes my hair feel and smell a bit greasy too. thanks!!

I use nail varnish remover on mine. Probably not idea solution though...

Use Hob Brite (from supermarkets, Wilkinsons, etc). It's a gentle cream cleaner for ceramic hobs, but is also recommended for cleaning ceramic straighteners.

It's recommended that you use baby wipes, slightly dried out. :o)
