Yep you are absolutely right, popular and good taste are not always the same thing.
I know that there are some crass questions here sometimes designed, I'm sure, just to get a rise out of some of the stuffier members, but it was a laugh and it wasn't too awful (well, when I left it hadn't gone past the point of no return)
