Does anyone know whether or not it is possible to consult another doctor in the same practice?
I am currently under a specific doctor (in a practice of 4) but when i ring for an appointment with the other doctor, (whom i feel is better for me), the receptionist is adamant i have to make the appointment with my 'own' doctor! Is she correct on this?
Thanks.

No not at all. My surgery has about 6 doctors and my GP's a male but i usually ask for a female doctor when its a personal\woman problem. Otherwise i just see my normal GP.

In our practice you can see any of the GPs. 1 is the best re children, there`s 1 who`s great re "woman`s troubles" etc. So depending on what the problem is , depends on which gp you ask to see. Ofcourse in an emergency you see whoever.
