İ suspect İ am pregnant, but will find out for definate in the next few days. However, İ have been in contact with a lady who has Shingles. İ have already had Chicken Pox, but am worried about the pregancy. Would it be safe to still go ahead with the pregancy?

If you have had chickenpox in the past, you will be immune.

However, if you are pregnant and have not had chickenpox in the past (or are not sure), and come into contact with somebody with chickenpox or shingles, then see a doctor as soon as possible. You can be given treatment with immunoglobulin if you are not immune.

Scroll down a bit for the info you need, but basically you cannot catch shingles from another person. You can only get shingles if you have had chicken pox before, but it is something that appears suddenly..not caught. You should be fine.
Wrong Octavious!....I had chickenpox as a kid and forty years on I've had shingles twice...not very pleasant, I can assure you.
Oh, well this site agrees with me. Just goes to show, the internet is unreliable don't it.

You can get shingles several times over, but not chickenpox. You should only ever have that once.
