Hi,

Its not the nicest of days but if you look hard enough there is something happy and special in everyday - today it is raining but it is also warm when I opened my front door this morning the smell of the day reminded me of camping holidays you know the type you had when you were young when everything was exciting and where you never let the rain get in the way!! It made me smile first thing!!!

I am sure the day will get better for you :-)

hi beryl, sorry you arent feeling well. Have you thought of browsing funny sites to give you a giggle? Theres loads of them but be warned some of them contain adult stuff (thats why I darent put up any links, I know a few but I havent looked at the entire sites so they could be pretty cheeky)

Hi & thank you too Beryl.

I went out for the first time on in 10 days on Saturday, just for a steady walk around the town mind. I also popped out again this morning, quite windy & damp, but the fresh air was wonderful - so I'm getting there.

I hope you're numb leg improves soon - enjoy your tea too! :o)

Hope you're feeling better soon Beryl!

Here's a joke for you, it made me smile this morning!

A bloke is standing in the garden watching his wife cooking burgers on the barbeque. You know dear he says Your bum is almost as wide as the grill now She pretends she cant hear him. Later in bed that night he tries to get a little friendly with her but she pushes him away. Darling whats the matter, dont you want me? says the bloke. No she replies I dont think its worth heating up this big grill for just half a sausage is it!

I got this this morning, and although I don't usually like forwards, I thought this was quite sweet. Sorry guys, this one's for the girls ......

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day,
drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As
they talked about life, about marriage, about the
responsibilities of life and the obligations of
adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her
glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance
upon her daughter.

"Don't forget your Sisters," she advised, swirling the
tea leaves
to the bottom of her glass. "They'll be more
important as you get older. No matter how much you
love your husband, no matter how much you love
the children you may have, you are still going to need
Sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then;
do things with them.

"Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women... your
girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women
relatives too.

"You'll need other women. Women always do."

'What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman
thought. 'Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I
just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married
woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely my husband
and the family we may start will be all I need to make
my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact with
her Sisters and made more women friends each year. As
the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually
came to understand that her Mom really knew what
she was talking about. As time and nature work their
changes and their mysteries upon a woman, Sisters are
the mainstays of her life.

After years of living in this world, here
is what I've
learned:

THIS SAYS IT ALL:

Time passes.

Life happens.

Distance separates.

Children grow up.

Jobs come and go.

Love waxes and wanes.

Men don't do what they're supposed to do.

Hearts break.

Parents die.

Colleagues forget favors.

Careers end.

BUT.........

Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are between you.

A girl friend is never farther away than needing her
can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you
have to walk it by yourself, the women in your
life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,
praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your
behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's
end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk
beside you.

Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters,
granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters,
sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties,
nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our
life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and
neither would I.

When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had
no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay
ahead.

Nor did we know how much we would need each other.

Every day, we need each other still

when i feel down i say this little rythme :-

I wish i was a glow worm,

a glow worm's never glum

cos how can you be gruppy

when the sun shines out your bum :-}

giggles, thanks ronnie...even saying it brings a grin....:-)
Ah, that's so sweet ronnie!
Oh Beryl, it is awful when you feel down. I had a "cheer up" today by going to Jimmy`s Farm (the BBC2 one) and watching the new lambs. They were so sweet and reminded me that spring must be on the way. Hang on to that thought sweetheart. tomorrow will be better.
Also, someoe told me a funny story - at least it made me laugh.
Man and dog go to cinema and watch a film with lots of humourous bits and sad bits too. The dog chortled and wept at all the right times and as they were leaving the cinema, a lady said to the man,"I was listening to your dog and he so enjoyed that film. I think it is amazing"
The man said "I was amazed too, particularly as when he read the book he hated it!"
Keep your chin up!! X
Read Ronnies glow worm poem last night and it made me laugh, and when my husband was going on at me today for something he thought I should have done instead of having a go back I recited the poem at him and he didn't know what to say and we just ended up laughing! Thanks Ronnie, you just saved me from a day of slamming doors and sulking!!
