An Enema works by inserting a tube and it will flush out the lower impacted faeces - a colonic is similar but it passes warm water through more of the large intestine - gradually breaking down faeces - it covers more area. I have had both but what really worked for me was Oxy power pills I ordered online which totally cleared me out which I felt was more effective and less expensive. There are probably lots of products out there that will do the same.

Guiness works for me. Liquid Pickfords.

I had a colonoscopy performed last week, and in preparation I had to take a seriously powerful laxative for two days to entirely empty my digestive tract. Since then I have had serious heartburn and it's taking time for my system to settle down again.

The problem with this proceedures is, they sound really good - the notion of 'cleansing' your system sounds ideal, because it brings to mind the notion of flushing out stale faeces and having a really good washout but ...

the human gut is designed to finction with cerain levels of bacteria which are seenential to the correct breaddown and distribution of food in the body, and 'flushing' removes them, as well as everything else, and upsets the body's delicate balance.

A healthy diet with a balance of fibre and vitamins will ensure that your digestive tract is as 'clean' as it needs to be, and faddy ideas like irrigation should be left alone.

andy-hughes. I had the same as you a few years ago.We still had a brown bathroon suite at the time. The laxative was that powerful it took approx 2 days of cleaning the toilet to get rid of the white residue. Strong or what!
