Can the pill damage your chances of having a baby?

I have been on the pill since I was 13 and have not had a break, I am now 31. I do plan to come off the pill next year and try for a baby but I am so concerned that I may have problems conceiving, I have heard so many people say how taking the pill for so long can affect your fertility. Does anyone know anything about this? And are there any other kinds of things I may need to worry about having taken the pill for so long without a break? Most of my friends are shocked that I have been on the pill for so long without a break, most of them have come off the pill and used other methods of contraception. I've always just been so paranoid about falling pregnant, and I also like the regularity of my periods, which is why I took the pill in the first place, because I suffered terrible periods as a teenager. Thanks if you can help.
