Can You Take Ceritizine Everyday Forever?

I have severe non allergic rhinitis all year round and find that half a ceritizine/antihistamine tablet everyday , alongside my otehr meds, help. I only take 5mg.  Ive been taking it for a while now but often wonder is it safe to take every day for the rest of your life?

Also as I take half I sort of just snap the tablet in half - there is what looks like a small score line but I still worry about the stomach constantly being exposed is there a higher risk of stomach ulcer etc...

I`m curious as to why you are taking an antihistamine (certrizine) if you have non allergic rhinitis

According to the NHS...you're probably still best off speaking to your Dr or a pharmacist.

Advice from the NHS re non-allergic rhinitis,

"Things you can do if you have non-allergic rhinitis

Non-allergic rhinitis is not harmful, but it can affect your life.

You can often treat it without seeing a GP.

Try to avoid the things that trigger your symptoms, if you can.

A pharmacist can advise you about medicines that can help, such as:

antihistaminesnasal sprays to unblock your nosesalt water nasal sprays or solutions to rinse out the inside of your nose

You can buy nasal sprays without a prescription, but they should not be used for more than a week. Using them for longer than this can make the problem worse."

237sj - I asked teh immunologist this - he said that as part of the inflammatory disease histamine will prob be being released also - hence why antihistamines help.  

They dont help to control it completely though - I need nasal steroids too.
