Steroid Hip Injection

I had one on Friday afternoon. No problem, pain practically gone. I thought it had worked until Monday morning and then the pain has come back with a vengeance. 
Has anyone got any idea why this should happen?  I've been putting a heat pad on but it doesn't really help.

It's just Sometimes happens. I had steroid injections in both my elbows  and it made them feel better for about half a day!

It's hit and miss in my experience

I had an injection for a frozen shoulder which worked wonderfully. Injection on my ankle - first one worked well for several months, 2nd one didn't work at all.

My sister hade 2 injections for her knee - first one OK, 2nd one wore off after a couple of weeks.
