I am due to have my second dose of shingles vaccination soon

I had my first dose alongside a single dose of the pneumonia vaccine and I felt a bit rough for a few days

Has anyone experienced side effects from their second dose of shingles vaccination ? I am sole carer for partnered with Alzheimer's disease and am keen to make sure he is supported somehow if I'm out of sorts

thank you

I was told that you only get one shingles jab.

No - the one our GP provides it's given in two parts 6 months apart

Had my first shingles jab a few weeks ago and was told jab number two would follow eight weeks later. However, was warned it would be anything up to eight months.  Was a bit under the weather for a couple of days, but nothing serious.

From september 2023 shingles vaccination was two doses, prior to that it was a single dose

they changed the vaccine. But as far as I can see you get the same vaccine twice so your reaction shouldn't be any different the second time around. But you could check with your GP or chemist to be sure.

Update everyone - second jab yesterday and have felt absolutely useless - chills , headaches and really achy neck and head

Still better than getting shingles - I hope !

I had shingles, I was lucky I think. It was no big deal.
