Apologies that I am still bleating on about this, but I am eager for your thoughts, especially Sqad. I’ve now spent six weeks in my room, unable to shower, unable to sit.I tried to sit on my perching stool in the kitchen earlier on and I could manage one second before a massive pain in my back, and I had to lie down which is where I still am. I still can’t see it, bend or reach. It definitely feels like a disc problem – even though I also have stenosis and facet joint arthritis. It has not improved or resolved in all this time, and as I am alone with no help, I am at my wits end. What can I do now? My GP doesn’t want to give me an MRI because I had one a few months back. I have seen physio and osteopath in my room, and honestly they seem to make it worse. I have an expensive private phone call with the spine surgeon on Friday, but I don’t see how this can help as I feel I need to be examined. I can’t get to hospital because I can’t sit in a vehicle. A&E will not be interested because it is not an accident or emergency as such.
I tore the ligament in my left knee pushing myself up in bed about a week ago, which was agony, and my left elbow feels subluxed as I have had to lean on it whilst on my bed. My physio said that my muscle tone in my legs has really deteriorated. I’m pretty desperate now – any ideas?

Thisoldbird thank you – I’m glad you managed to find a couple of nice people to help you and your husband.
I do have a cleaner, but she only comes once a fortnight because that’s all I can afford, and she basically cleans.

It’s nice to have her come in, but it’s not the sort of help I need physically. I just want to be medically examined and diagnosed! If I damaged myself on the football pitch during a game, they would carry me off, and get a diagnosis, and a treatment plan. Why is it so difficult to get this with what they see as an existing injury/issue?! Now that I have reached the six week mark, I think I’m going to kick some serious butt this week. Local councillor is a good idea, thank you. I might try my MP as well.
You seem to be in so much pain - surely - there is help out there.

Can you "bleat" for a social worker who surely can move things along for you.

you shouldn't be suffering so much.
Is there any mileage in contacting your MP explaining how appallingly one of their constituents is being treated by the National Health Service and state that you are in desperate need of a solution, right now ?
Or maybe contacting a local newspaper who may be looking for local stories ?
Have you any family member nearby?

I wrote to my MP last night! Unfortunately all my family live hundreds of miles away. My friends say get well soon, let’s meet up when you’re better.

But I need actual practical help and a diagnosis!
Definitely try your local newspaper now things have come to this pass. Tell than that you have only just written to your M.P. . It's a shame it is Sunday, many small press do not have staff on Sunday. To get a story I am sure they would be happy to chase your M.P. (who they probably know) and s/he would be encouraged to take some action, if s/he hasn't already received your email - they tend to go through secretaries.

Otherwise, ring 999 and say whatever is necessary to get help. Even ask for the police, because you are helpless and think you heard an intruder. Good luck. I know your family isn't close by - but can't they be stirring someone up on your behalf? Tell them how bad it is.
I contacted my MP also..the reply was he would contact the surgery. I never heard anymore but he at least answered. Worth a try I guess.
