I'll be popping graveside in the next couple of hours, 2 cans of John Smiths Smooth in hand. One for dad, t'other for me. I get some odd looks from other gravesiders, but i always had a few drinks with dad on Father's Day and there's no reason why that should stop just because he's no longer with us:-)
Hope all the living dads get plenty of cards, love and affection. Oh yeah, and the odd gif is very much appreciated:-))

I was 5 weeks old when he went off to war in the Western Desert. He was killed in Italy 3 years later on St Valentine's day 1945.

I didn't have a particularly good relationship with my father when he died as he'd become quite a heavy drinker after he retired. So this is not a sentimental day for me.
I do wish he'd seen his grandkids though.
