It may be just me, but why does everything seem to be so complicated and confusing.
Since Thursday night I've felt like a bag of crap, bunged up nose, sneezing like there's no tomorrow, just like a bog standard cold.
So just now I thought I would take my temperature. So whats normal temp? I'd forgot, because I can't remember the last time I ever bothered to take it.

Googled it and OMG. Instead of just getting 1 or 2 answers for quick reference your confronted with a whole boat load of charts/ variations/ ages of patient, what time of day you take your temp. Some doctors say this, some say that, but they agreed that it should be around this. Jesus!!!! HELP :)

It seems whatever you look up on the internet now your left wishing you'd never bothered, and come away more confused than you was before you went on. Just having a rant :) :)

barry.....so is 36'5C or 37.5C normal?
Whenever I visit my Gp surgery they always take my temperature , at the entrance .

So if I have a reading above 'normal' , what they gonna do , I wonder
Having had to take my temperature umpteen times a day for many months (during my chemo treatment), I have no problem remembering that it should be around 36.5C, plus or minus 1C.

However nobody here seems to have pointed out to Sandra that being bunged up and sneezing a lot, especially around this time of year, sounds very much like the symptoms of hay fever. One-a-day loratadine tablets are dirt cheap (£2.50 for 30 in Asda) and so might well be worth a try, in my opinion.
Buenchico....barry makes the point that Googling normal temp, just gives one reading "in bold" ..37C

So I ask does the Internet (Google) whatever lead us to believe that 37C is normal and any other figure is abnormal?
bhg, it's been 98.6 for quite a long time

jno - 1962 was the year we changed from F to C.
Doesn't the media report very hot weather in Fahrenheit (80 degrees in Brighton, hotter than Benidorm!) and very cold weather in Celcius (-10 in Scotland, colder than Siberia!)?
