My husband told me 8 month ago he was leaving me for another woman. (He has a long history of cheating). I packed his bags and through him out, unfortunately he refuses to leave as jointly owned house. I also started divorce proceedings on adultery which he ignored, so now divorcing on unreasonable behaviour. He refuses to discuss finances with me so cannot agree to what we are both entitled to, ie equity, pension. He lives with her at weekends, ever since I tried to throw him out. He has now found out I am seeing someone and has spat his dummy out!! Now says he is no longer paying the bills. I work p/t so cannot afford to live like this much longer. I think I may have to get a court order for maintenance. No young children thankfully. He is making it feel that I am the one causing the split!

See a solicitor. If you can't afford to buy him out, and he won't buy your share of the house you will have to sell and divide the proceeds. If he refuses to you can apply to the court for an order of sale and division.
Is there any reason you can't work full time? As there are no young children it will be far better for you to support yourself and not rely on your husband.
You can apply to the court for a financial order if you and your husband can't come to an agreement.
As I said at the start, see a solicitor

I've instructed a solicitor. Unfortunately at 61 my age is against me on the job front.
Speak with Citizens Advice. Although be mindful that you will only be giving one side of the story.
Jane, as you have instructed a solicitor he should be advising you. If he isn't helpful, find another.
Change the locks, see a solicitor.
Anne, the house is jointly owned so she can't lock her husband out
How long have you been married?
Question Author
Been together 17 years, married for 10. I suggested to husband to just split everything 50/50 but he refuses to even acknowledge. I asked for us to sit down like adults and sort everything out so we can have a clean break and both move on. He just buries his head. That's one reason why when he accused me of seeing someone I said yes. I am hoping now he will move things along.
