On holiday in Liverpool. I have symptoms of covid. Never had it before. I've tried to get to see someone to get tested but I'm just being sent from pillow to post. I come home Friday. Shall I just lay low ?

I would treat it as a cold which is what I did when I had it. Take your usual paracetamols etc and either rest up if you feel the need or carry on with your holiday plans if you feel ok.
Just lay low. Even if you have it, there's not much they can do. Do as you would with a bad cold, rest, drink plenty water etc. etc. Don't worry, Covid has been around forever in some shape or form, we used to call it a bad cold.

Thanks both, just as I thought x
Just lay low and stay away from others as much as you should with any bad cold or flu type infections. Not like those who see themselves as heroes and carry on as normal spreading their bugs around.
lol at pillow to post
lol at holiday in Liverpool;-)
It's easy to get a pcr. I got one within the hour at one of 2 centres within 15 mins drive. Got results 15 hrs later
It's somewhere I've never been Ladybirder. Or anywhere near.
Is there any point in having lateral flow or PCR tests now ?
My dad has heavy cold symptoms. I suspect it’s Covid but he doesn’t want to bother with a test. He thinks there’s no point now.
//It's easy to get a pcr//
Not for free now unless you are in vulnerable group.
//Is there any point in having lateral flow or PCR tests now ?//

None whatsoever.
And by the way ,there are some lovely coastal towns in Liverpool
As long as you follow the rules for being positive. I hope you don’t come into contact with a vulnerable person.

Liverpool and the ppl are lovely. It was city of culture 2004.
//As long as you follow the rules for being positive.//

What rules would these be then, anne?
I bet New Judge hasn’t had the vaccinations either.
Wrong, grumpy, he has
Oh right,my mistake,sorry.
Yes, grumpy, NJ had his jabs as early as possible (given the haphazard state of the rollout programme in my area).

You must misunderstand me - Covid was a nasty disease two years ago, especially for the elderly and the vulnerable. For the vast majority of people it now no more dangerous than any of the multitude of other respiratory diseases we might encounter.

The reason I asked what rules one must follow after testing positive anneasquith was referring to is because in England (and I believe in Scotland though I don't follow their rules quite so closely) there are none.
