My hernia op last week had made me look 7 months pregnant. Apart from a huge pin, how can it get rid of all this air!! I don't have the ability to walk or exercise!! They say it will be absorbed back into the body, but at this rate it's going to ages!!

You are my ideal blow up doll.-;) It varies but may take up to a year to resolve completely.

I look like a bouncy castle!!
Make the most of it, Pat. Hire yourself out to the neighbourhood kids and earn a few bob while you're still full of air:-)

Lol. Ken!! The dog and cats seem to think I'm a blow up mattress!!
This is a bold OP, lottie! You have left yourself open to some smart answers ;)

I shall just wish you well and hope things subside naturally and quickly. If the operation has worked I would settle for that. Take care and keep away from hedgehogs for the time being.
Just don't venture outdoors if it's windy, you may end up in a neighbouring town:-)
Your lucky, I got an infection and ended up with a bollock the size of a lemon when I had mine!
Question Author
Ymfb, at least I haven't got any bullocks to worry about ! ;0)
I'll say 'congratulations', just in case.
I hope the wind is absorbed soon, Pat :-))
Other than that, hope all is reasonably well with you x
In far from the madding crowd ( 1967 ) Gabriel Oake cures a flock of sheep with "bloat" by er stabbing them with a "bloat knife"

a few of them die - no not really, they get them to lie down with a shed load of sedatives
thought i heard some distant tuba-like noises . . .
Don't let it come out too quickly or you'll go flying round the room. :-) xx

What's that song the kids like from the film 'Frozen'?

"Let it go"
I am not saying that one of these will make you look slimmer but an after operation hernia belt might help. It will give you support .Apologies if you already have one.
Question Author
Thanks for all your answers that has hept me amused. Andres I'm avoidin a belt because I still have stitches and don't want to aggravate the scar. I don't think t!!e make one that will fit round the Michelin man I have become.
so long as the dog or cat doesnt think you are a balloon
An alternative to a belt is not an attractive sight but lie on the bed and raise your legs in the air. That should help to release the wind. Or crouch 'doggy-style' on hands and knees. The air will turn blue.

Sqaddy, I know they pump air into the abdominal cavity for ease of access and viewing bt how does it get absorbed?
andres, I think that the knees won't kneel any more, bless her, and the good lady is feeling somewhat tyred at the moment.
Bibendum ;)
