I’m still getting confused nearly 2 years on!

So someone we came into contact with yesterday has tested positive.

They do not live in our household.

Am I correct in thinking we merely do a LFT and that if that’s ok no further test needed!

Which country are you in?

England
Don't do any test, just get on with your life.
You are only legally obliged to self-isolate if you have been contacted by NHS Test & Trace and have not been fully vaccinated.
dave; //Don't do any test, just get on with your life.//

It isn't always that easy, not here in Deutschland anyway;

Because Mrs K & I will be alone for Christmas, to save a lot of the usual work & trouble, I booked us in for a slap-up Christmas lunch in the restaurant of the Schloss (castle) which towers above our village, https://schloss-weitenburg.de/en/home/ no problem ? well not quite: Mrs K has 3 jabs, I two & am a refusenik having had a stroke brought on by the first 2.

Not Baron von Rassler's fault but because of the insane government rules - which are coming your way soon- I have to show a certificate that I have had a negative test within 24 hours of entering the restaurant. But that means having it done on Christmas Eve when everything is shut !!!

Fortunately I have a friend who owns a chemists & his wife is a trained nurse retired, who has been helping out with the jabs, and they are going to fix me up with a test on the afternoon of Christmas Eve at their own house. The world has gone insane.

It is a crazy old world now. Wonder if this will ever end? What’s after this strain?

By “never end” I mean the testing etc?

Covid is here to stay - in various strains - just like the common cold
I now read that there has been a new strain of covid found in Marseille !
it hasn't even got a Greek name yet (in spite of Marseille itself having a Greek name).

No need to worry till the Greeks arrive.
