Johnson would not dare to impose a lockdown at Christmas, but is another lockdown in January now inevitable?

Getting you worried TTT ?
January ?
I reckon it will be well before then !
it's quite possible, if only because he won't impose one at Christmas. So we can all have superspreader Christmas Days with our loved ones.

I keep hearing protests from restaurants and the entertainment industry, but I've not heard the undertakers complaining.

Is it not political suicide to do this at Christmas ?
The simple fact is, Boris Johnson does no 'lose', or Keir Starmer 'win' over this.

These decisions are driven by party policy, they are driven by scientific advice, and if Mr Starmer was in power, he would be doing exactly the same.

Any attempts to see actions as losing political popularity are pointless.

Johnson is losing popularity because of the actions of his party employees, not acting to save the ecconomy, and lives.
I'm not worried gromit, I worry for the economy and business owners who will get another kicking if your dream is realised. I don't know what your agenda is but you love all this don't you.
andy, I think you underestimate public annoyance about having Christmas cancelled - in particular, at the last minute and after pledges that it won't happen.
yeah but no but
there is still covid in the socialist paradises arent there?

"Sir Keir or even Corbo - in power and the next day Covid isnt there!" isnt a going concern is it

Probably just after I reckon
He cannot impose anything until then because after the shenanigans of last Xmas by himself and his party the whole country will decide that the rules do not apply to them in a show of defiance
It will be a matter of choice after that as to how people deal with it and whether they follow the rules/guidance or not

TTT,
When your heart throb Boris announced lockdowns were a thing of the past in July, everyone but you knew it was premature talk, and was bound to fail.
Now, they have again let covid get out of control. They staked all on the vaccine, and that isn’t working.

It is almost as if you have some vested interest in loads
of Brits dying?
don't talk rot gromit, there is no reason to have another lockdown, end of.
What do you mean they have 'let covid get out of control'?

No, there is a highly contagious new variant. You can't blame the government for that

Let us see what the stats are this time next week after all the nativity plays and Xmas markets and high street shopping

// there is no reason to have another lockdown, end of. //

You typed all that with your head buried in the sand?

Well done TTT.
cobras, cases are irrelevant, deaths and hospitalisations have been falling for weeks. They are levelling out now, sure but only a fraction of what they were last Jan pre vaccination. I don't know why you pray for the destruction of our economy gromit.
From the Guardian

Hospitals are expecting NHS England to declare a national incident within days, meaning decision-making will be more centralised. It will probably lead to routine operations being cancelled once more, adding to a waiting list that is already almost 6 million long, and staff repurposed. A senior NHS source said GPs would be told to massively ramp up boosters over the next two weeks, prioritising them over non-urgent appointments and reducing the number of face-to-face interactions outside administering vaccine doses.

I would imagine that itu doctors are getting very twitchy right now
No chance, I would hope the public would ignore any such instructions, I know I will. Also it seems that it's OK to die of cancer or heart disease but not covid.
Gromit are you still smarting from your failed prediction that 6 weeks after July 19th we'd have a lockdown?
Question Author
TTT,
Was that the same thread that you insisted there would be no more lockdowns, that Boris had everything under control?
