Recently when I bend down I find I've wet myself. It's not a torrent but any seems too much. Apart from Tena for men is there anything can be done about this or is it just another of the inconveniences of getting older?

Increased pressure on your bladder can be a sign of an enlarged prostate.

See your GP for a check.
see your GP as there are reasons for this, and i believe that they could help you. I have a similar bladder problem and got referred to a bladder and Bowel clinic, which has helped.
Hi Sandy, I’m not very knowledgeable of your problem.
I wondered if you have had your prostate * checked * recently ?
Question Author
It's 5 or more years since I had a thorough medical examination. Time for another check up, I suppose.
do it sandy, you have nothing to lose by seeing the GP.
As well as that, sandy (and I'm sure you know), there is a way for men to make sure their bladder is properly empty. I don't really want to describe it, so have a Google:-)
Or use the female way. Sit down, and at the end, lean forward with your chest on/ towards your knees. But I agree, prostate check first.
Prostate check required, pronto.
//// just another of the inconveniences of getting older?///

I am afraid you have hit the nail on the head in your comment.

From you brief description, prostate problems are not top of the list but need checking.

No big deal......but see your GP.
Sandy, do you get breathless at the same time?
Pixie, you wouldn't know, but it's harder for a man to fully empty his bladder when sitting down.
speak for your self Hopkirk ;-)
Kegel exercises are for men, too - I have been doing them for years and encourage all my friends and relatives to do them.

It's even harder when you've got to do it to order, with a little box of tricks measuring the flow - as I found out at Ipswich Hospital this morning ;-)

Dannyk13,
No, no problem with breathlessness.
I had to award Hopkirk best answer because it raised a smile. :-))
I got away with that then. I was expecting to be told this isn't chatterbank.
Made me smile too x
