Hello everyone. I have a bachelor’s degree and master’s/diploma in architecture. I have always been passionate about anthropology and studying architecture really awakened my interest in it since after all architecture is about both the building and the human being within it.
I got accepted in a visual anthropology masters program in a prestigious university in Germany and applied for my student visa 2 months ago.
I got a call from the embassy questioning my choice of study and that it is odd that I’m pursuing a completely different career. I have then been asked to provide a logical explanation which stressed me out a lot. Now after googling the most common student visa refusal reasons, I unfortunately found that my case is on the list. I feel so lost and don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any positive thoughts/feedback? Thank you in advance.

Is it possible for you to ask the university that offered you a place to support your application for a visa? This might have some influence on the decision of the embassy.
