Is it possible to have the shingles vaccine if one is prone to herpes outbreaks please?

Yes, your "herpes out breaks" are due to herpes simplex virus which is totally different from the shingles virus (herpes Zoster)
Herpes is not a contraindication for the shingles vaccine.

I caught shingles (it's horrible) when I was 68 - but I was not allowed a Shingles jab until I was 70. I booked it and had it when I was 70 years and 2 days. Seems stupid to me to withhold it from people liable to suffer from it.
What I forgot to add was, yes you can.
I am astounded that it works ( shingles vacc)
but yes it does - no this is not me becoming crazy antivaxxer
I simply don't think it would be feasible to give it to everyone Jourdain.
