Hi, don't know where to put this... is anyone else having trouble getting petrol?

I have tried 3 times in the last 2 days... including queuing for 10 mins, then 25, to find the petrol had run out 2 cars before me. I wasted 16 miles of petrol, out of 18.

Thankfully, one client's husband had some already for lawnmower, and managed to get mine from 18 to 72. But after today's palaver, it's now 55.

I'm trying to do homecare, and have several vulnerable people relying on me. Local fb groups have decided to not update... please- does anyone have any ideas? X

Pixie, if you can say where you live, perhaps some abers may be able to help. They may know of garages that have petrol and no queues.

they're saying the armed forces will be working from Monday

after the success of their Afghan operation, what could go wrong...

Yes I am pixie, been trying for a couple days. It must be very difficult for you doing homeware, perhaps you will get priority as being discussed b the Government at the moment I understand. I have very little and am worried I won't have enough to get to hospital and back on Monday. I queued for about 35 minutes yesterday and then found out when I got to the pumps there was only diesel left. The day before I tried and got fed up as I was on a side road and the main road traffic wouldn't let us in so I gave up. I'd be very happy with just £30's worth, I don't need a tank full. As far as I can make out from social media and friends there is no more available at the moment in B&H. My Waitrose delivery chap said he had enough petrol for the rest of the day then he would be unable to work.
*^ homeware is what I wrote - it's changed it again. HomeCare!!!

Thank you, everyone xx South Bucks, Barsel, near Great Missenden. Tbh, even with updates on local fb, things seem to be changing within minutes. I did just reply to a post there though, and an employee has sent me a private message, for 6am tomorrow....
It is very frustrating lb... I walk to as many as possible anyway. I don't need loads, but some I do need to drive to.
Thanks, jno. All will be great tomorrow then ;-)))
It sounds quite bad over there regarding the transport of fuel around the country. The last I read, 150 military drivers were being trained to drive fuel tankers. Unless that number has increased, do you really think that an extra 150 drivers is going to make much of an impact upon the situation?
The large supermarkets round here (Manchester) are not having any problems. Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys' etc all open and no queues. Well, none that I saw yesterday. The problem round here is for the independents. There are four in this town and they are all closed, but Tesco are open, no problems. Why aren't the smaller ones getting any supplies?
oh are they short of petters?
I havent looked out of the window

I bet Boris de Pfeffel isnt, haw haw haw

yeah coom up t norf - doesnt seem to be short now
all the petrol stations along Oldham Road - where Clarion and I lead our grey existences - seem stocked

grey miserable unhappy ....
I can confirm, the news is correct.. everything OK from Monday!!

Fuel supply: Military to deliver petrol to UK garages from Monday

Yay!!.. Alexander Boris De Pfeffel Johnson saves the day!!!
I hope the fuel hauliers will be charged the full going rate (plus a bit on top) for the use of the country's forces personnel. There's no reason why the taxpayer should pay for the ineptitude of the directors and managers of haulage companies..

Thanks, everyone, sorry for not getting back, been busy. Have managed to finally get some this morning, so very relieved.
The local Shell and Essex have increased prices to £1.99...
Still no diesel here, I fear farmers will have to use their stores of Pink to get animals to market. Thankfully we're done with our store lambs so don't need to go to the mart.

Petrol seems to be easing here, diesel is still a problem, going by fb posts. The pump i used, had the diesel covered, as obviously had run out.
it's a nightmare round here all roads backed up where there is a garage ,we only have one road leading out of town which is totally blocked with people queuing for the next town .daughter was late for work as buses are running late and are packed when they come .

It's been the same here, mally... fuel stations seem to be mostly off main roads and roundabouts, so queues are blocking entire roads.
There was a queue this morning, but moving, which is an improvement on last week, anyway.
are you in hampshire pixie x
mr mally has an appointment at the hospital tomorrow but can't get fuel .
