It is officially Autumn! If you’re not ready for the seasons change then hopefully these odd jobs might inspire you.

It’s a good time to start a windowsill herb garden. If you’re unsure what herbs to grow then think about what herbs you often cook with. Sage can be quite popular this time of year, used in stuffing.

If you have a pond or water feature in your garden then it’s a good idea to cover it with a net to stop any falling debris. Leaves can soon clog up a pond or water feature especially if they get stuck in the filter. Covering ponds and water features with a net will help catch that Autumn debris making it easy to dispose of. We would recommend this tool for the job. If you’re going for a cordless leaf blower then the vacuuming function does use a lot of power so we recommend that you blow the leaves into a pile in a corner and then vacuum them up quickly.

Before the temperature gets too cold it’s a nice time to clean out the greenhouse. Some things to look out for would be algae on the glass or any flaking paint. Algae won’t directly harm your plants or vegetables in the greenhouse but it can affect the microclimate which can lead to issues such as root development.
