I am due to have my cataracts done, starting July 9. The surgeon mentioned putting in one long vision and one short vision lens. Has anyone any experience and advice about my choices? Many thanks, Bramley.

This doesn't answer your question BB but Mr T has just had both his eyes done. No pain, no problems. The worst bit was remembering to put the two lots of drops in, four times a day! The difference it has made is amazing. Best wishes to you.

That's common. One eye will be dominant for reading, the other for distance.
Quite usual. Good luck.

Thank you both for your early bird answers! That answers my question perfectly. Can’t choose a best answer, both are very good, thank you.

By the way, that is often how they correct vision with laser surgery :)

You are going to start seeing things a whole lot clearer very soon. You've got a lot to look forward to, Bramley
Here's a tip for you, BB. They will put a plastic guard over your eye when it's done. You are supposed to use it at night time when you go to bed. It would be almost impossible to sleep with that strapped to your eye, so use a face mask instead. Mr T used a blue NHS one, as they are 'straighter' than others.
