do you spend a lot of time on the loo? ive never understood people who spend ages doing a poo regularly - when i need a poo i go to the loo and do it, wipe and wash then leave. If you spend ages in the loo, is it because you're trying to push it out? Waiting for it to come out? do you go to the loo when you dont need a poo and just hope it happens? Or is it just to do with having alone time?

Lol when I was a kid growing up in a busy house I used to go sit for ages on the loo…. Just to have a room to myself!
i go to the loo when i feel the need, having sat down, the urge often disappears, very frustrating
I was advised by a doctor after having a fissure assessed, that three minutes is the maximum anyone should spend on the loo.

It's an unatural position for the body, and it strains various bits and pieces.

Having said that, I am guilty of the 'male' habit of taking a book or magazine and spending twenty minutes.
It doas not matter how long you sit on the loo. Sometimes i can get it done quickly and other times the process is slower and have to wait a little for things to happen, sometimes i push.
Question Author
arent there better/more comfy places to spend 20 minutes reading a book?
if you are waiting for things to happen, why stay there?
Haha I wonder this because personally I'm always in and out in a couple of minutes whereas the husband is 20-30 minutes but pretty sure that's because he's reading. Maybe he also waits for it to fall out without putting in any effort :-)
I sit for a while because I know its going to hurt my knees when I stand up!
My dad always had a regular time for that every morning, taking the newspaper in to read, and he’d stay there till he was done.

I think it’s a ‘men of a certain age’ thing.
yeah we used to read on the loo
and yes it is a place by yourself
I still cant pee standing
yes no after 70 y I have trained myself to do the x word in a chair
good question nobs, I don't spend any more time in there than is necessary but sometimes the no 2 can take a while especially when you think you are done and a biot more wants to come out that's usually when you are about to pull your pants up. The time is not wasted though I have a bog book which is currently Tony Robinson's autobiography "No cunning Plan".
I am broad minded but........I find this subject distasteful.
How is sitting on the loo an unnatural position? I agree having a lower toilet would be more natural but sitting on the loo puts no more strain on the body than a squat - the way tribal people who don't use western style furniture sit on the floor. https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=228749
This thread needs to be closed!! So distasteful.
Distasteful? Nowhere near as bad as your answer to a new member which I have reported.
/// if you are waiting for things to happen, why stay there?///

Well you wouldn't want it to happen anywhere else would you !

P.S. Why do some people find natural functions distasteful - so prudish.
We could never work out why our old boss in the middle east used to take a book to the toilet with him when we had an eastern toilet before we got our villa with a proper one.
Why do people find this question distasteful? Its about a normal bodily function that we all have. And it's in body and soul - the right section. And if a doctor finds it distasteful then shame on them ;o)

Interesting question lol
some they go to sit and think
some they go to *** and stink
but I just go to scratch my balls
and read the writing on the walls
