Wife in late 70's. Hair thinning dramatically. I realise that a lot is probably due to the stress of the pandemic. Trying to google a treatment but all the treatments end up as adverts for the product with a "Trustpilot" rating which is not only unhelpful but has been found to be totally unreliable.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t think it is the pandemic. It is age. It is hormones. It is being female. Don’t waste your money on treatments. I am also going through this, if the worst comes to the worst it will be a top quality wig for me.
I agree with smurfy.
Just be sure that there is no underlying medical condition such as an underactive thyroid.
Two things in addition to Sqad's comment. Google telogen effluvium which will tell you about stress related hair loss....and it helps to choose the right parents which i did not. As a woman it sucks being bald but a wig is the only reliable answer. She (and you) might like to look at rogaine/regaine which is the only clinically proven hair regrowth treatment but it doesn't always work, doesn't produce masses of hair and you only keep the hair while you carry on with the treatment.
