Anyone Have Problems Wearing A Mask?

I have no objection to wearing a mask at all, and always do. The problems I have, being quite old, is that I have hearing aids and glasses. It’s quite difficult to get it all behind your ears. Then when you take the mask off, the hearing aids fall out. I am afraid that I am going to lose one or both.

Anyone else have this problem?

Definitely, bobbie.I have had to buy a glasses chain so I don't smash them and always keep a finger on the hearing aid before removing the flipping mask. Irksome, is it not?

I think that a chain is a good idea Choux. I take the mask off when I get outside because I can’t breathe with the mask on. Always afraid one will go down a drain also. Silly me

you can get masks that dont go behind the ears, rather round the back of the head

Your not alone. I managed to catapult my relatively new glasses with the mask elastic, and then kick them. Luckily the lenses weren't damaged. I have now learnt to be very slow and careful.

I have just had a new hearing aid and I asked how many folk had lost their hearing aids because of mask removal. The reply was "quite a few". I know the aids cost roughly £1000 a time so I said that must be expensive to replace by the user. I was then told that Scrivens (who do my tests and hearing aids) will replace them free of charge, unlike most of their competitors. I was impressed.

You can buy face masks where the elastic goes behind your head, rather than looping over your ears. They're meant to be better for people who wear hearing aids (but, as I don't wear one myself, I can't vouch for that statement).

There was a time when hiding your face when entering a public toilet would have been a cause for concern !!

Sharon, I think that might still cause a problem when you want to take the mask off or down. I remove my mask asap after leaving a shop. Not sure how I would get on with releasing the tapes via the little button gadget. There is a lot of furniture behind the ear!

I find my glasses steam up!
My main problem though is limited vision especially looking down.
I find it difficult to negotiate stepping up and down kerbs and I'm not too steady on my feet.

Chou the mask is easy to remove. Just remove the top tie and leave the bottom tie in place. Easy peasy.

I have just had another look at the link you gave, Sharon. Still not convinced - you can see in the link the tape sits right on the front top edge of the ear. As Bobbie has already said glasses steam up so I often remove them to clear the steam and then put them back on. It is so easy to put the arms of the glasses over the tape. The tape could also ease itself down the inside of the hearing aid. It is something we have to adjust to and take care of.
