Hi Everybody.
I've been in bed all day with breathing problems.
SATS fell as !ow as 62 yesterday but came up quickly to settle at 86.
Taken Trimbow and Salamol inhalers, but no nebulizers today.
Also taken Carbocisteine and Lorazepam breathing tablets.
Just the short walk to the bathroom and back to bed leaves me gasping like a fish out of water.
I could do with a whiff of oxygen, but I'm afraid if I ring for paramedics I'll get kept in hospital.
I've got no cough or pain to indicate pneumonia, just chest feels a bit of a rattle.
I'm hoping bed rest will do the trick.
While I'm lying here I feel quite OK, just scared to move.
Am I doing the right thing, and let it pass ?
I got my jab twelve days ago, no Covid symptoms.

Jj... I think theland was told he shouldn't have oxygen as he used a vape pen. Morphine, he may well already be on.
Hopefully he will return when ready and reassure us...

At rest SATs are 83/84, but after several minutes of deep breathing, 88/90 so I'm happy with that.
I do feel a bit drowsy though, but it may be my meds.
No medical advice Theland, - don't even know what a 'sat' is - but good luck & thinking positively for you (also known as prayer). K.

I've just had a nebuliser, and deep breathing, getting 88/90 so that will do.

Thanks Khandro, I'm just desperate to stay home :-)

As soon as I stop the deep breathing, my SATS drop back to 83.
Not sure what to do.
That's certainly low enough to at least ring for some advice.
T, why do you not have home oxygen ?
Allergies, asthma, inflammation, and infection are just some of the conditions that can cause you to have breathing problems. The right diagnosis and treatment, along with better understanding of your condition, can help you manage your breathing problems.
Mr T you MUST do what is best for your health..if it means a day or two in Stalaag 17 then that's what you have to do !!
anne, maybe Theland smokes or vapes, or lives with somebody that does.

blimey this thread should have a stupid alert on it
Back in the late Fifties, my stepfather (only one lung) had an oxygen cylinder by his bed - I used to trundle it down to the chemist in a barrow for a replacement each time it got low. Is such a facility available nowadays?
Yes, canary, but I'm sure theland said they wouldn't provide it as he has a vape pen.
Right, I missed that. Seems odd nevertheless.
I hope you do ring 111 as soon as you can because 83 is quite low , Im on oxygen and I would be on the phone if I was as low as that. Hope you get some help and begin to feel better soon.
