I'm doing the night shift with her tonight. She hasn't eaten for days and only managed an occasional sip of water through a straw. She hasn't been conscious for most of the day (probably due to her meds been increased) when she is conscious she can barely speak and is confused)
It's been a painful long drawn out illness.

I'm afraid to close my eyes in case I wake up and she's gone.

Sorry but I'm all alone here.
So sorry, nailit x I know it might seem bittersweet though. Glad you are with her xx
Not in spirit, nails, we're here with you...you're never alone xx
That probably wasn't the right word I used, but hopefully you know what I meant.
Nailit, so sorry to hear this. Talk and hold her hand. They say they can still hear. Try and have a strong coffee.

Be a blessing when she goes. She shouldn't have suffered like she has.
Nobody should. Can I ask when her syringe driver was put in? Does she have any favourite songs you could play for her?
Tell her quietly she can go when she's ready and if you close your eyes and she goes at least you will have wised her well once last time.

It's so hard.
It may come as no comfort, but at least you are there with her, and lately that's been a rare privilege. She won't be alone in her last moments.
Nailt I'm so sorry , I hope her passing is pain free and she just goes to sleep, thinking of you

Couple of weeks ago pix.
She has no music in the house.
Has she a favourite book nailit. Could you read to her? All you can really do is be there, will you are.
nailit, I know exactly how you feel, I honestly do.
It is one of the hardest things to do but, believe me, you will do it. The thought that your mum will be out of pain will keep you going. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Very true Jim.
So sorry for you, Nailit.
Stay strong for your Mum.
I think playing some of her favourite songs softly, is a good idea, like Pixie suggested. Gently talk to her too.
On your phone? It doesn't matter, just be there, hold her hand. I wish I could say something helpful, but you are already doing it xx
Nailit, I really feel for you, I am gad that you see her end as a blessing. Stick in there, My Mum went recently, a couple of hours after I left her, though she wasn't alone, I regretted it. Take this opportunity to be a comfort to her.
My heart goes out to you Nailit. And hard as it may sound, I hope you are right. Your poor mum has suffered enough...she deserves peace. As do you and your family. xx
I am glad you got her medication hiked. Please don't feel that you can't sleep.
Thinking of you nailit x
