Anyone who has had the vaccine. Which is the best one of the two. Pfizer or the AstraZeneca. Having mine on Tuesday just curious. Just happy to have either. Thank you

They SAY oxford has the greatest number of 'reactions'
= anything that is reported

and so some euro countries arent using it ; BUT if you dont have some thing ( like covid vaccine that is! ) then the natural thing is to decrease demand for the commodity by saying it is crap anyway

as my bruvva said - after 14 m tries it is amazing it hasnt killed anyone

i had side effects with the astrazeneca vaccine. don't know what the best of the two as one is going to have the same vaccine with the second jab.

My mum has finally got her appointment today at the pharmacy. She's also been given her 2nd appointment on 2nd May. She won't find out which one she's getting till she gets it. I reckon it's the Oxford one. My dad and nan both had the Pfizer at the beginning of Jan and have yet to hear about their 2nd jabs.

tigger I think it depends on whether you get your vac through the nhs scheme (mega hubs, pharmacies and so on) or through the GP surgery scheme. NHS national scheme seem to be making both appointments at once, GP scheme seem to be making one at a time. No idea why. Note the GP surgery scheme doesn't alway mean you go to your GP, they are also banding together and using local community centres and so on.

i am hoping the next one is at our local health centre as it just around the corner. no idea when the second will be.. sometime in april/may perhaps?

My nan and dad had there's done in an Ikea car park, Woof! Not sure what that means in respect of their 2nd jab.

Tiggerblue -does that mean that the stabber comes to both the drivers and passenger side windows ? Or am I misunderstanding and you park up in a massive car park before queuing for a tent ?

I'm theoretically due a second jab in a couple of weeks (AZ) but I haven't heard and don't really expect to do so for quite a while yet.

anne, no, I have been an unofficial carer for the last three years, and my OH is vulnerable, so apart from the occasional supermarket visit to get stuff they don't sell online, I just stay home watching Talking Pictures TV and doing family history. I went for long walks in spring and summer but don't feel like it in this weather. I imagine if I was 40 I'd be going spare, but I have the serenity of old age.

In theory, after a first jab you ought to be able to venture out with some confidence (assuming Boris allows it), but the stats about AZ for oldies still seem rather vague. Our granddaughter has dropped by a couple of times but kept her distance. (She's seven weeks and doesn't have much to say anyway.)

As said before, due to horrible side-effects to Pfizer suffered by OH (all-body, itchy rash since Dec.24th, old areas easing with treatments which I have to give, new areas erupting) I tell everyone I know not to have the Pfizer. Myself, I had the Astra-Zeneca on Friday, slightly sore arm but incredibly tired by 10 p.m. and slept for a lot of Saturday. This is a perfectly acceptable side effect and I shopped early so I could take it very easy over the weekend.

Have to add that OH's reaction is unusual - it is all being photographed and recorded and a rash should appear as a possible side-effect in the next generation of leaflets. Anyway, I would recommend the A-Z. :)

I had the astrazenica (I'm middle age) and had nothing for the first 12 hours, following day mild fever for about another 12 hours, then some tiredness, neither were debilitating, I spent the "fever" day shovelling snow!

I have my next shot booked for early May (I'm a keyworker) but I am happy to get the pfizer if the two don't clash and I can get it.

Sis had Pfizer 10 days ago and my mate had hers Pfizer last tuesday. Different parts of the country

Had mine yesterday,Astra Zeneca,all very efficient in a recently decommissioned health centre.Slight achy arm and feeling a bit tired today but am sure this is only passing.
