Watched Mccartney On Utube Singing 'Let It Be'

I don't understand whether it means 'Let it Be' - in the sense of leave it alone - or whether it means 'Let it be' in the sense of 'Let it Happen'. It would be nice to know, as it is part of our musical heritage, just don't understand which one it is intended to be. Answers TIA.

He has said on record, I saw it on the James Corden show, that his mum came to him in a dream and said, 'don't worry, let it be, everything will be ok', which I think answers your question, 'let it happen'.
