Hi the reading in this little gadget is always good for Mr M but when I do me the oxygen level reading is always ok but the pulse rate is really odd 20 - 24 ??!! I know I’ve got a pretty slow resting heart rate (55 ish) from my activity tracker watch, but why is the oximeter reading always so low??

Your meter is faulty. Take his pulse inthe usual way or if you have a BP machine, then that will give another reading of his pulse.
Not reliable for pulse if you have poor circulation, try warming your hands in warm water and see if it changes. if it doesn't it may be you just have a weak peripheral pulse. Check it manually.
Cheap Chinese rubbish
Make sure your fingers are totally free of ointments etc before you use it. Also, clean the machine with some sort of alcohol.
Hopkirk, how do you know that it is Chinese?
Isn't everything?

I bet it is.
Just looking on the back of mine and sure enough it says chicken fried rice.
Mine was made in the Netherlands.
Snob! Show off!
;-)
Blimey, I didn't know anything was made in The Netherlands.
Hopkirk. Dutch people are made in the Netherlands.
you dont tell us what your boom-petty-boom petty actual pulse is when measured at the wrist by someone else finger

and also the readout gives a humph hummph wave form. - it is any good?

I have found it pretty good ( AF - pulse all over the place)
Philips still make many items in The Netherlands....and quite a lot of prepared foodstuffs are made there too.
